You have likely heard of “autoresponders,” but you may still have questions on how exactly they work. One of the best analogies is the old “fax-on-demand” service. A person who was interested in a particular business could call a specific number and receive more information about the business via his/her fax machine.

In the same way, autoresponders automatically send out information about your company. This can be in the form of information about your company, specific email series on particular topics related to your industry, and more. All your subscribers who input their contact information into your autoresponder opt-in form will obtain the information that you want to send out to them automatically.

This works because you set this up ahead of time with the information and/or files you want to have sent out automatically. You put this into your autoresponder email opt-in form, tie this into the autoresponder form you have on your website or elsewhere, then allow the system to work for you. Whenever someone inputs his/her email address, he/she will receive the information that you have placed into the autoresponder form.

This means that you do not have to manually send out the information that your subscriber or customer requested, whether it’s information about your company or it’s an email series about a specific topic related to your industry, etc. All of that is automatically handled by your autoresponder, thereby saving you time and allowing you to focus on other aspects of your business that cannot be automated or automated as easily as this.

This is why autoresponders can be such a great investment for your business. You need to either spend a considerable amount of money upfront, pay a monthly fee, or both in order to have a credible and reliable autoresponder system that works for your business, but the costs are quickly made up for if you utilize the autoresponders properly in your business.

By smartly using autoresponders, you can cut down on the time it takes to complete more mundane tasks and allow you to focus more time on aspects of your business that require more human involvement. One such instance is informing your customers or subscribers about your business or providing them with an email series that informs them of a specific topic related to your industry. By employing a reliable autoresponder system in your business, your business will become more profitable because you’ll be able to focus on more critical tasks that only you can complete.

Since you already know how autoresponder works, next is to sign up for a good autoreponder that will help you in managing your list of subscibers to the fullest. The autoresponder service that I am using for years
is Aweber Autoresponder. I feel that their service is good and therefore recommend you to use it, click this link for details: http://www.jvrespond.com

Many inexperienced Internet marketers have heard of needing to build their lists in order to earn sustainable income online and to live the Internet marketing lifestyle. When they hear this, they think, “I need to build my list as large as possible and as fast as possible.”

There is one important caveat to that thinking, however: The size of the list isn’t as important as the responsiveness of that list. In other words, the quantity of the list isn’t as important as the quality of that list.

Many inexperienced Internet marketers fail to take into account that there are two main types of subscribers: those that will open your emails, read them, and consider your offers, and those that will ignore your emails, not read them at all, and not consider your offers, even if they do open an email or two from time to time.

Obviously, if you acquire more subscribers from that second group, you aren’t as likely to profit from your list as you are if you gained more subscribers from that first group. The key difference is that responsive subscribers (those from the first group) will be receptive to your offers, and hence, help to make you money as compared to unresponsive subscribers (those from the second group).

This is true no matter what the numbers are – Internet marketers are much more likely to profit if they have 100 responsive subscribers than they are if they have 1,000 unresponsive subscribers. That is because the responsive subscribers are much more likely to open the Internet marketer’s emails and carefully consider his/her offers as compared to the unresponsive subscribers.

It doesn’t really matter how many subscribers you have on your list if they don’t bother reading your emails and consider your offers. This is where many Internet marketers miss the mark – they’re too concerned over the number of subscribers they have as compared to the response rates of those subscribers. If the response rates are low, your profitability will be low as well.

Therefore, you not only need to build a sizable list, but the list must be responsive as well. A large, unresponsive list will do you little to no good when it comes to building your reputation and your profitability. Work toward creating a sizable list that is also responsive to your emails and to your offers. You can help the members of that list become more responsive by being more human in your emails and truly showing that you have a genuine interest in their well-being and in improving their businesses. By showing this in your emails on a consistent basis, you will build a more responsive list, which will only help to boost your profitability and reputation.

Every list consists of both responsive and unresponsive subscribers. Fristly, you need to learn more about list building and other internet marketing and social media strategies.

When attempting to achieve success in Internet marketing, one of the most important factors that will help to determine whether you are successful or not comes down to how good of a list you are building. “What’s that?” you ask. “I have to build a list?”

The answer is, “yes,” you must build your own list in order to truly be successful and profitable online. To not build a list is essentially Internet marketing suicide because you have little to no chance of earning the sustainable profits that are needed in order to quit your 9-5 job and enable you to live the Internet marketing lifestyle that you have heard much about. That lifestyle can be lived, but only if you take the necessary steps needed to build a good list.

“What is a good list?” you ask. A good list is one that will be responsive to your emails and to the offers you present to them. Just building any old list will not do – if the members on that list are unresponsive to your offers and to your emails in general, it’s almost like not having a list at all. You need to build a quality, responsive list in order to truly succeed at Internet marketing (and that’s not just in the Internet marketing field, but in any niche that you plan to go into online).

To build a quality, responsive list, you need to stay in constant contact with them, but not just to promote offers to them; on the contrary, many of the emails you send them should provide valuable information for free to them. You should also attempt to connect with them on a human level. One of the biggest challenges in marketing online is to overcome the inhuman qualities of the Internet. This is referring to the faceless qualities that make up the Internet; people on your list cannot see you, so they have no idea who you really are.

The way to overcome this is to take the time to truly bond with your subscribers on a personal level. Tell them about what is going on in your life, including about your family, your children, your home life, etc. Don’t be afraid to be human – not only will this help you to connect with your subscribers, but they’ll feel much more confident in ordering from you because they’ll know that you’re an actual human being on the other side of their screens. This can make all of the difference between whether they decide to purchase from you or not.

In addition, you need to show that you are willing to help them out however possible when it comes to improving their businesses. You cannot approach it as if you want to just get sales from them, as this approach will NOT work. You need to always keep your subscribers in mind in terms of how you can help them; by doing this, they’ll also learn to trust you more, including the recommendations you provide to them.

Therefore, always keeping your subscribers’ best interests in mind and being human are two of the best ways to create the quality list you want and need to be successful at Internet marketing. You need to overcome the faceless anonymity of the Internet in order to convince your subscriber that you are a real person and that you genuinely have their best interests at heart. Accomplishing this will enable you to earn more sustainable income from your Internet marketing efforts, and thus, enable you to quit your day job and live a more worry-free, stress-free lifestyle.

You have many different facets of an online business you must create and maintain in order to succeed at creating a successful online business:

You must provide unique content in your selected niche or topic of interest

You must build websites that are SEO-optimized

You must promote your business to gain more subscribers and customers

You must stay in constant contact with your subscribers in order to keep them informed in terms of your industry and your upcoming offers

This is hardly an exhaustive list; there are many more tasks you must be proficient in (or hire someone who is proficient in them) in order to have a thriving online business. The last item in that list above is one that you must especially be proficient at in order to succeed online.

In the very early days of the Internet, you would have had to manually add a subscriber to your database, then manually write out an email message, and then send it to each member of your database manually. Can you imagine the time it would take to do this?

The time it would take would be exorbitant – you’d be fortunate to handle a list of just 10 subscribers, let alone 100s, 1000s, or more. Fortunately, those tasks are no longer necessary today thanks to autoresponders.

Autoresponders are a type of program that allow to program emails ahead of time so that they are sent out to designated recipients at a specified time. Autoresponders can be in the form of services provided by third-party providers or online software programs that enable you to install the program directly onto your Web server. Either way, these programs can help to accumulate a database of subscribers to send your messages to, which is key to making a consistent income with Internet Marketing.

As you can see, autoresponders can be a valuable asset to your online marketing efforts. It is essentially impossible to have a thriving online business without using autoresponders. There are many options to choose from, most of which are within the reach of virtually any budget. If you truly desire to make a living from the Internet and aren’t utilizing autoresponders yet, you need to utilize them in your business beginning today.

As mentioned above, a good autoreponder will help you in managing your internet business to the fullest. The autoresponder service that I am using for years is Aweber Autoresponder. I am very happy with their service and therefore recommend you to use it, click this link for details: http://www.jvrespond.com

When you are on Twitter, you likely are thinking about how you can effectively promote your business and the product offers that you have. Certainly, that is important, and something that you should be focused on.

However, you should also keep in mind that your followers want to know that you are an actual human being and not a “bot” (essentially, a software program that is programmed to send out tweets on a regular basis). Your followers want to know that you have other interests and can display that you are human on Twitter, even revealing something amusing or personal about yourself from time to time.

Not only will this show that you are human, but it will also open you up to your followers, which can help you to establish a more meaningful relationship with them. This is important because, the more they come to respect and trust you, the more likely they will be willing to listen to you, to consider your product recommendations, and to purchase your product recommendations.

Certainly, though, this does not mean you should be funny, casual, and off-topic all of the time; after all, your Twitter followers want you to provide valuable information to them. But, at the same time, most of your Twitter followers are not wanting you to spew out information with no feeling, no passion, and no concern for anything else either.

If you find something funny or amusing, as long as it’s appropriate and clean, feel free to share it. If you find something inspirational, feel free to share it. If you find something that annoys or disgusts you, if it’s clean, feel free to share it. By doing this, your followers will start to get a feel of who you are as a person, and thus, be more willing to trust and even respect you.

For instance, if you tweet about a scandal and feel that such conduct is unbecoming for a respectable business, it’s likely your Twitter followers will look up to you as a person with morals and ethics, which can only bode well for your reputation and the reputation of your online business. This can lead to a greater number of subscribers and a greater number of new customers as well.

Therefore, it’s important to keep in mind that while you should stay on topic on Twitter so that it benefits your online business the most, you also need to remember that you should be willing to mix in some other elements that show you are human and not a “bot” just sending out information left and right. Showing that you are human will only increase the connection and relationship you can have with your Twitter followers, and this can only help to boost your reputation and credibility in your industry. By mixing in worthwhile tweets that show humanistic qualities of your personality, you can help to establish a deeper relationship with your followers, which can lead to greater reputation, subscribers, and customers for your business.

The Importance of Follower/Following Ratio on Twitter (808 words; 840 words left)

If you have been on Twitter for any length of time, you likely have noticed some important numbers: Tweets, Following, Followers. These are the numbers that are prominently displayed on the left side of your screen whenever you are logged into your Twitter account.

The number of tweets are the number of posts you have made on your Twitter account. These posts go out to all of your followers, who are the Twitter users who have decided to follow you and the tweets you make. This is why your tweets will appear in their tweet feeds whenever you post them. Likewise, the people you are following, tweets from those Twitter users will appear in your tweet feed whenever they post a new tweet.

These numbers mean several things. First, regarding your tweets number, it shows how often you post. You really want to evaluate and keep track of how many tweets you are making, especially per day and how often per day. You definitely don’t want to go too long without tweeting, as this could alienate your followers and make them think that you have abandoned them.

However, you definitely don’t want to be overdoing it with the tweeting either – while you won’t be getting much work done if you are tweeting all of the time (unless you are using one of the many automated Twitter tweet software programs that are available online), even more importantly, you could be annoying your subscribers, leading to them tuning you out and even unfollowing you, something you certainly don’t want to have happen.

When it comes to your followers and following numbers, you want to try to have a good ratio. What is meant by this is that, you don’t want to follow virtually everyone on Twitter (and Twitter has millions of users around the world) and have virtually no one follow you. While most Twitter followers will follow you in response to you following them, they likely will only stay if they feel your tweets are valuable and worthwhile to them. Therefore, just because you follow many people does not automatically mean that you will have many followers over the long term.

You’d like to try to keep your followers and following ratio as close to 1:1 or even have your followers portion of the ratio higher than your following portion of the ratio. “Why?” you ask. This is because Twitter accounts that are managed by “bots,” or software that will send out tweets on a preprogrammed basis and look to gather new followers automatically based on the keywords you enter into it, have disproportionate numbers of followers and following, with the following portion of the ratio much higher than the followers portion of the ratio.

As a result, other Twitter users that see your disproportionate ratio will likely question whether you are a legitimate Twitter user or not. You can overcome this in time by providing quality, informative tweets, but it is preferable to keep your ratio as close to 1:1 or even beyond in favor of the followers over the following to prevent this stigma from being attached to your account. Anything you can do to mitigate and alleviate the fears and doubts of your followers on whether you are an actual Twitter user or a “bot” is something that you should seriously consider doing.

Additionally, it gets extremely hard to keep track of everyone’s tweets if you are following tons of people. Plus, if your computer is older and/or your Internet connection is not that fast, you will likely have a hard time using Twitter, as your page will be constantly refreshing itself to make room for the new tweets that are coming in. With so many Twitter users that you are following, the tweets will be coming in by the second. To get the most out of your Twitter user experience, you should do everything possible to keep the following portion of the ration in check and in control.

Therefore, it is important that you pay special attention to the numbers associated with your account. You don’t want to tweet too often or too little, as both can have adverse consequences on your followers, making it more difficult to connect with them and making them more loyal to you and your business. Additionally, if you have many more following than followers, your followers may think that you are a “bot” and not a real person. This, too, can be detrimental to your business. It is important to keep the following in check and boost the number of followers you have, especially the number of loyal and attentive followers. By paying attention to these numbers and taking steps to ensure that your followers/following ratio is in good balance, you can maximize the benefits your business receives from your Twitter account and tweets.

While you benefit from retweeting other Twitter user’s tweets to your followers, you also benefit from other Twitter users retweeting your tweets as well. If you have other Twitter users regularly retweeting your tweets, many Twitter users will take notice and want to find more about who you are, what business or industry you are involved in, and want to follow your every move and statement on Twitter and beyond.

Yes, what this means is that they will likely follow you on Twitter, and will likely follow you back to your Facebook page, your blog, your website and other places associated with you. They will see you as a trusted authority in your industry and will want to remain in close contact with you in order to get the latest scoop on what is happening in the industry.

Additionally, the Twitter users who are retweeting your tweets will be exposing your messages to their followers, which can have a viral effect because they may retweet your messages to their followers. As a result, you could have an explosion of new Twitter followers within a relatively short time span if you do it correctly. This can greatly increase the reputation and profitability of your business, and best of all, it’s free to do and doesn’t take much time to implement.

The only key element you must follow is to provide the latest information that is worthwhile to people, and to do it on a consistent basis. Once you establish a track record of providing up-to-date information, more and more people will be willing to follow you. Additionally, more prominent people will follow you as well, which can also lead to more prominent followers following you, etc.

As you can see, there can be a great viral effect from providing worthwhile information on Twitter. The best thing is that virtually anyone can do it so long as he/she has valuable information to share and does it on a consistent basis. By doing this regularly, you can not only establish as a worthwhile expert in your industry, but you can increase your Twitter profile, which will serve to boost your own credibility and the credibility of your business.

This will help you to get more out of Twitter. However, there are some unwritten rules about Twitter that you should follow, both to be a good member of Twitter and also to get the most benefit out of Twitter for your reputation and the reputation of your business.

One of the main rules of Twitter is to not mass follow and unfollow people continuously. What I mean by this is that you should not repeatedly follow and unfollow numerous people. You do not want to falsely inflate and deflate the number of followers you have in your Twitter account. If you do this, Twitter will likely take notice, and certainly, the followers you have will take notice of these fluctuating numbers and realize that something is up, something that is likely fishy and unnatural.

It is natural to have a gradual increase and decline in your followers numbers. After all, it takes time for people to learn about who you are, what you are about, what your expertise, and whether it is worth following you, both in terms of trust and in terms of what information you provide. Similarly, you are bound to lose some subscribers over time as well – they may figure out that the information you are providing isn’t what they are looking for, they’re just trying to manage their Twitter account in a more efficient manner, etc. Again, gradual increases and declines are natural.

Hopefully, if your follower count is increasing or decreasing by a few hundred or thousand
every day, people are going to start taking notice, and chances are, they’re going to be suspicious. While it’s possible to have a genuine mass influx of followers if you are providing consistently good information and it’s going viral across the Web, having that happen every day is going to likely cause people to question your reputation because it’s just not natural to expect that much of an influx each day. Most people will think that you’re paying for Twitter followers or using various systems to try to inflate your follower count.

Therefore, you should always try to build your follower base the natural way – using those automated systems or paying for mass numbers of followers may sound like a good idea at first, but you don’t really know if they will be worthwhile followers or not (chances are, they probably won’t be), and the key to having success on Twitter is having worthwhile followers, not the most number of followers. This is similar to building your opt-in lists – it’s not the number of subscribers, but how responsive they are to you. It’s the same with your Twitter followers, focus on quality, not quantity.

Another action that is frowned upon Twitter is sending rapid repeat messages one right after another. I see some Twitter users sending out 10 successive quotes in a row, within 5 seconds or so of each other. This action is annoying for two reasons:

1. You want time to digest the information you are receiving; receiving rapid tweets from one person is going to prevent you from digesting the information, thereby making it harder to perceive the value in those tweets and causing your view of that person’s reputation to drop.
2. Each tweet will move down other tweets in your tweet feed (the space where tweets from those you are following appear). This can prevent you from reading other tweets that you may find more interesting and valuable. This will both annoy you and cause you to want to unfollow the other person who is sending out continuous tweets within a short time period.

Therefore, you definitely do not want to tweet repeatedly over a short time period. You want to at least space them out by a minimum of 30-60 seconds, and preferably, you only want to do that on a limited basis, not all of the time. Otherwise, your reputation and your follower count will likely drop, thereby damaging a primary reason you’re on Twitter in the first place – to gain valuable followers and build valuable relationships with them.

By knowing these Twitter pitfalls, you can avoid committing them. Once you lose a follower, it is extremely difficult, if not impossible, to get him/her back. Just as with an opt-in subscriber or with a website visitor, you work so hard to gain a Twitter follower – why would you want to risk losing that person potentially forever? Therefore, make sure to avoid committing the actions mentioned above, and you’ll greatly reduce the likelihood that you lose Twitter followers due to your own poor actions.

Essentially, Twitter can be a very useful platform for your business if you work with it and learn how to maximize the benefits from Twitter. You may be thinking, “How can I utilize this platform? After all, there are only 140 characters per tweet.”

That is the key – you only have 140 characters per tweet, but no one says that you have to say everything in just one tweet. This does not mean that you should send out 2-4 successive tweets in a row, though on occasion may be okay, especially if you label the end of the tweets as ¼, 2/4, ¾, 4/4, etc.

No, the main point of 140 characters per tweet is to convince you to continue your conversation or the information you present off of Twitter, preferably onto your blog or website where you can continue providing valuable information in however many characters you need to get your message across.

This is really how your business will benefit the most from Twitter. Even the best writer possible is not going to be able to deliver the most meaningful messages consistently just by writing 140 characters or less per tweet. What that writer can do, however, is to entice his/her followers enough to get them to click onto the link that he/she provides in his/her tweet so that they will head to his/her website and continue reading what he/she has to say.

Just as you would attempt to get people to go from your blog over to your website by providing meaningful posts, you would so the same on Twitter – entice them enough to read more of what you have to say, then lead them to that site so that they continue reading, as well as consider a related offer.

Therefore, you should not look upon Twitter as the be-all, end-all in communicating with your followers; on the contrary, you should use it as a means to continue furthering your relationship with your followers. It is hard to reveal all of the information they want to know and hear by just communicating on Twitter – you must be able to get your Twitter followers off of Twitter and onto your website in order to fully communicate with them, to have them sign up to your list(s), and to have them consider and purchase your offers. This is how your business will benefit the most from the tweets you make on your Twitter account.

Of course, you really want followers who are interested in your tweets and offers, not just people who want to follow you and not pay attention to what you have to tweet.

Therefore, the key is to gain as many targeted followers as you can to your Twitter account. How do you go about doing this?

Obviously, you have to start somewhere when it comes to gaining followers, since you start off with zero followers. One of the easiest ways to gain new followers is to start following people – Twitter actually has you follow ten people to start your Twitter journey when you sign up.

Many Twitter users will respond in kind and start following you. This is where you need to show them that you are an expert in your field and begin tweeting about related news in your industry. This will help to show that you are an expert in your field and convince those Twitter users that they should continue to follow you.

Additionally, if they like the information you are presenting to them, they will likely “retweet” your tweets to their followers. Retweeting is where a user will re-post your tweet to their followers. They can either retweet the post in its exact form (known by its initials “RT”) or modify the tweet a bit to include his/her own commentary, additional information, or to ensure that the tweet is under the 140-character limit. This is known as a “modified tweet,” represented by the initials “MT.”

This will help to spread your word across to your followers’ followers, thereby encouraging and convincing many of them to follow you, thereby increasing your own followers.

Additionally, your followers may reply to your tweets, thereby increasing your exposure to their followers, since their followers can see all conversations that your followers start in the Twitter live feeds.

As you can see, it is not that hard to gain followers in your Twitter account. The main point is to get started tweeting about relevant news in your industry and following some people that you find interesting and/or are connected to your industry. This will get the proverbial Twitter “ball” rolling and get you on the way to establishing a worthwhile and potentially profitable presence on Twitter.

In this article, we are going to focus on the “Retweet” option and the value behind you retweeting someone else’s tweets and someone else retweeting your tweets.

You should retweet someone else’s tweet when you find value in it and/or you like what was said, so much so that you feel that your followers will benefit from it as well (whether it’s valuable information or just a good laugh). This retweet will post that tweet to your followers. The tweet will begin your username, followed by “RT” (stands for “retweet”) and the username of the person who wrote the original tweet, then the tweet itself.

Sometimes, all of that information will cause you to go over the 140-character count limit, thereby nullifying your ability to send the tweet. This is why you are allowed to modify the tweet, known as a “modified tweet,” which is signified by the initials “MT.” The main message of the tweet is intact, but you modify it accordingly so that you can send it out to your subscribers. You are allowed to add some commentary or additional information if you wish as well.

Now, what value do you actually get when you retweet someone else’s tweet? After all, you might think, “Well, won’t that cause my followers to follow that person instead?”

Yes, that is certainly a possibility, but you should NOT look upon that as a bad thing. On the contrary, this is often a good thing for several reasons. One reason is that your subscribers will appreciate that you passed along the information to them, which will boost your credibility as an expert in your field. The fact that you provided additional sources of information for your followers and were willing to take the time to send it to them will be greatly appreciated by your followers.

Another reason why it’s important and critical for you to retweet other Twitter users’ tweets is because, if those users are not following you yet, the fact that you are retweeting their tweets may convince them to follow you, which can only boost your credibility as an expert. If they start following you, your tweets will start showing up in their tweet feed, which can make it more likely that they will start retweeting your tweets to their followers, which can potentially boost the number of subscribers you receive.

As you can see, the power of retweeting is evident in the fact that you can gain almost instant credibility as an expert in your field by retweeting other people’s tweets. This will show your followers that you are up-to-date on the current information in your industry, plus you are willing to share this information with your followers. Additionally, retweeting other people’s tweets may encourage them to follow you if they aren’t already, thereby increasing your ability to connect with other prominent people in your industry, as well as potentially gain connections with their followers as well. Therefore, using the “Retweet” function on Twitter can be an effective and easy way to boost your reputation and credibility in your industry.
